If you are familiar with architecture world, then the name Louis Khan must be familiar for you too. Louis Khan is actually an architect based on Philadelphia that is known for his masterpieces. Below are the compilation of Louis Khan Architecture that is so inspirational and has its own character.
Khan himself surely has his own character, all of the buildings he design was both monolithic and monumental. Not to mention that he actually didn’t hide the weight, the materials, and how the material are assembled for a building. Besides, Khan is also worked as a professor in Yale School of Architecture on 1947-1957. Moreover, he also taught the students of University of Pennsylvania from 1957 until his death time.

Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital
Exactly located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, it is one of the best work from Louis Khan. Currently, this place is a government medical school and hospital.

Indian Institute of Management
Built by Louis Khan between 1962-1974, this building that is located in Ahmedabad, India has some big cylindrical column that is both beautiful and magnificent.


National Assembly in Dacca, Bangladesh
Completed in 1982, it is one of the most prominent works from Louis Khan. Now, the building is absolutely stands for a symbolic monument for the government of Bangladesh. The building has known as part of the Bengali vernacular architecture.





Phillips Exeter Academy Library
Phillips Exeter Academy Library is not only the largest secondary school library in the world, but also it contains more than 250.000 collections of books. Of course our architect Louis Khan has made the library with such a marvelous design. The design is unique, since Kahn made the library with 3 concentric square rings.
Firstly, there is the outer ring that is using material of load-bearing brick, including the exterior wall. Secondly, there is the middle ring made of reinforced concrete, that absolutely has the use to hold the heavy book stack. After that, there is the inner ring with dramatic atrium and huge circular opening on the wall that lets people see several floors of book stacks.
